As part of the 2025 Grade Level Reading Week celebration, Fireburn Heritage was honored to partner with the Virgin Islands Children’s Museum in collaboration with the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands and the Library of Congress Center for the Book to promote literacy and celebrate Virgin Islands culture.
Representing Island Alphabet: Discovering the Virgin Islands Letter by Letter, Art Director Danica David led an engaging storytime at the Children’s Museum of St. Croix, introducing young readers to the vibrant people, places, and traditions that make the Virgin Islands unique. Danica’s leadership as Art Director was instrumental in bringing the collaborative ABC book to life, making her participation a meaningful extension of the project.
Through storytelling, conversation, and shared discovery, children experienced the joy of seeing their culture reflected in literature while developing a deeper appreciation for the history and heritage of the Virgin Islands. Partnerships like these reflect Fireburn Heritage’s ongoing commitment to strengthening literacy, celebrating cultural identity, and creating enriching educational experiences for youth throughout the territory.
