In October, award-winning author Angela Golden Bryan led a transformative 3-day Book Writing Bootcamp on the island of St. Croix. Hosted by the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts (CMCArts), and sponsored by CMCArts, Fireburn Heritage, Resist Foundation, and the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands, with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities, this workshop empowered aspiring writers with practical tools to bring their stories to life.
The workshop, titled Your Story, Your Voice, provided participants with guidance on brainstorming, organizing, and writing their books. With no prior experience required, attendees tapped into their creativity and passion, learning how to simplify the book-writing process in an inspiring and supportive environment. Each participant’s unique voice emerged as they engaged with the material and connected with one another, fostering a strong sense of community.
Angela’s latest book, Roots and Resilience: An Island Girl’s Path to Spiritual Growth and Transformation, served as a template for the course, offering participants a structured approach and practical exercises to help outline and begin drafting their own books.
Fireburn Heritage board members Erin Bryan, Sonia Bailey, and Lou Golden attended to show their support, further enriching the experience for all involved. Their presence underscored the organization’s commitment to lifting voices and preserving important stories.
